A New Dream for Humanity – Hypersonic Transport Aircraft –
JAXA | 宇宙航空研究開発機構
The video introduces JAXA’s attempt to achieve hypersonic transport aircraft of Mach 5 class, which will fly across the Pacific Ocean in two hours, by studying a conceptual design of the aircraft system and conducting flight environment verification of the hypersonic engine, the key technology, from takeoff to reaching a speed of Mach 5.
“The objective of a high-speed plane is reducing journey times, aiming to travel, for example, between Europe and Japan in around three hours.”
This video is the TV documentary that was produced by the Euronews Channel in coordination with the HIKARI consortium in the frame of describing the research performed within the HIKARI project to the general public and thus preparing societal acceptance for such disruptive transport.
